With the 2025 NRL season in full swing, Newcastle Airport is proud to partner with the Newcastle Knights for the 2025 NRL season sponsoring jersey number 5 (currently worn by winger Greg Marzhew) as part of the Knights Club17 initiative.
Newcastle Airport Executive GM Marketing and Communications Burcak Sezer said partnering with Newcastle Knights celebrates what makes Newcastle iconic and strengthens regional pride.
“The Newcastle Knights bring strength, heart and spirit every time they represent the community and we are committed to connecting and promoting our region to the world while supporting these values that make Newcastle special,” Ms Sezer said.
“We selected Jersey 5 at the Newcastle Knights Club17 selection event earlier this month and we couldn’t be happier. All of the Knights are top-tier players, and we recognise the critical role wingers play.”

Parr confirms Airport partnership
“We all look forward to seeing the No. 5 Newcastle Knights jersey flying down the wing and landing safely, just like you do at Newcastle Airport.” said Mr Parr.
Ms. Sezer said Newcastle Airport's Club17 sponsorship for the 2025 season marks the beginning of a long and dynamic partnership.
“Just as the Knights unite and inspire our community every season, we are inspiring our region to embrace Newcastle Airport as their gateway to the world when our international terminal opens in August.
“We definitely see this partnership as the ‘right route’ to showcase Newcastle and our greater region as a premier destination for sports, tourism, and business.
“Your region, your airport, your team - that's the Newy Way."
Newcastle Airport Interim CEO Andrew Warrender said he looked forward to an exciting season ahead.
“The Knights' values of tradition, grit, and inspiration align the airport’s focus on community, teamwork and a positive forward-thinking approach," Mr Warrender said.
“You can bet our whole crew will be waving the red and blue when we see Jersey No.5 flying down the sideline or diving for the corner to score a try!"
The Newcastle Knights will face the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium in the season’s third round fixture, this Saturday (22nd of March).
