Ultimate Guide: NRLW Round 8 preview

It's a Grand Final rematch when the nib Newcastle Knights NRLW side travel to play the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Knights will look to consolidate their top four position with a win on Saturday, while the Titans boast a strong record on their home patch.

With two rounds remaining, it's all to play for in the NRLW competition.

Nita Maynard rejoins the 17 while the remainder of Ben Jeffries side is unchanged.

For the Titans, some major changes with Lauren Brown out with a broken hand, seeing Lailani Montgomery come into the halfback role.

There will be a new centre pairing this week with Jaime Chapman to return from a hamstring niggle and Taliah Fuimaono back from suspension, with Niall Williams-Guthrie out with a lisfranc injury and last week's debutant Sarina Masaga moving to the bench.

Lily Kolc also comes onto the bench in place of Matekino Gray who is out with a shoulder injury, with Georgia Sim the new 18th player.  

FORM GUIDE

The Knights suffered a 32-24 defeat at the hands of the Broncos last time out.

The squad remain in the top four, while a win on Saturday will go along way to securing a finals position for the red and blue with two games remaining.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast sit in seventh on the ladder while have lost their last two games including a 24-14 result to Parramatta last round.

Southwell: 'It's in our hands'

KEY MATCH-UP

Shanice Parker v Jaime Chapman: Experienced Knights centre, Parker, will take on the dangerous Chapman when the two sides do battle on Saturday.

Parker has been one of the consistent best for the Knights, especially in defence, while has averaged 123 run metres and has 21 tackle breaks for the season.

This match-up looms as a great battle between attack v defence, with Chapman, who boasts speed and power out wide.

STAT ATTACK

Knights fullback Tamika Upton has scored six tries in her past six games.

The Titans have won four of their past five games at Cbus Super Stadium.

Titans winger Emily Bass has scored a try in three consecutive games.

The Knights have won their past three games against the Titans.
