The nib Newcastle Knights have re-signed rising NRLW star Jules Kirkpatrick for a further two National Rugby League Women’s Premiership seasons, ensuring the promising Singleton junior remains with the Newcastle Knights until at least the end of 2026.
Kirkpatrick, who turned 21 last month, has been a product of the Knights pathways systems for many years, progressing through Tarsha Gale and Harvey Norman Women’s premiership programs, along with NSW Under 19 representation in 2022.
The hard running back rower worked tirelessly hard to recover from a season-ending ACL knee injury, suffered in last season's NRLW pre-season trial against the Brisbane Broncos, and has since become a key member of Ben Jeffries 2024 NRLW squad.
“It was an easy decision to re-sign Jules, due to her great character,” said Jeffries.
“Jules constantly displays determination and grit, with a wonderful work ethic, especially during her recent 12-month rehabilitation program, enabling her to return fitter, faster and stronger for 2024.
“Her progression through our Tarsha Gale development pathway and representative football with NSW U19s Origin, is the ideal way for our local juniors.
“It’s imperative we keep nurturing players like Jules and continue to expand these programs even further, with the aim of creating more NRLW household names playing for the Newcastle Knights.”
Jeffries also confirmed the signing of exciting 18-year-old Australian Schoolgirl Mercedez Tauleelei-Siala from the Tweed Seagulls.
The highly talented outside back will come through the Knights TGC pathways program prior to joining the 2025 NRLW development list, followed by the top squad in 2026.
