Young gun extends for two seasons

The nib Newcastle Knights have re-signed Tom Cant for an additional two National Rugby League seasons, ensuring the Knights pathways product remains with the Club until at least the end of 2026.

Cant, 22, graduated through the Knights pathways system to make his NRL debut against the Dolphins in Round Three, 2023, in front a huge home crowd at McDonald Jones Stadium.

The versatile back-rower provides great utility value for the Knights Squad, playing in both the forwards and backs, along with being an accomplished goal kicker since his junior days at the East Maitland Griffins.

nib Newcastle Knights Director of Football, Peter Parr, is excited to re-sign the promising local junior.

“Tom is having a tremendous year in NSW Cup, and we believe he is primed to take that form into the NRL,” Parr said.

“He is a passionate Novocastrian, who loves representing his family and the community he cares so deeply about.

"We are delighted to see him remain a Knight.”
