Round 22 and Round 2 of the NRL and NRLW competitions marks Women in League Round as the game comes together to celebrate and recognise the significant role women play in our game.
Each season, the NRL invites Clubs to provide their WIL Role Models to coincide with the round and to be recognised during the broadcast of their respective games.
The Club are proud to introduce our Role Models for the 2024 Women in League Round.
NRL Role Model - Nicole Russell (Group Chief Financial Officer)
Nicole Russell is our NRL Women in League Round representative for the 2024 season.
Nicole is the Group Chief Financial Officer responsible for finance, IT and business intelligence at the Knights and Wests Group.
Nicole has worked at the Wests Group for nearly 12 years, with Wests acquiring the Knights in 2018, she has taken on the crucial role for both organisations.
Nicole is often seen around the Club with a massive smile on her face while she’s proud of the Club’s growth in the female pathways area and the current facilities that our women’s sides utilise, supporting the future growth of women’s rugby league.
NRLW Role Model - Katie Fisher (Sports Trainer/Gear Steward)
Katie Fisher is our NRLW Women in League Round representative for the 2024 season.
Katie is the NRLW side’s sports trainer/gear steward and has been a trusted volunteer within the Club’s pathways system for the past five years.
Katie has been apart of the past two successful NRLW campaigns and loves the connections and comradery that can build within rugby league.
A reliable figure of positivity and trust, Katie is always there for the women’s side within her roles within the game or preparing their change room pre-game.
She is honoured to be the WIL round representative as a proud mother of two boys.
