Congratulations to Tyrone Clarke, Olivia Ray, Maddison Ridgeway and Kyran Blair on being selected as the 2024 Male and Female School to Work Youth Ambassadors for the NRL Indigenous Youth Summit.
The NRL Indigenous Youth Summit is an annual event in Sydney where selected high school students of the NRL School to Work program, gather to develop leadership skills and gain upskill.
The summit includes representatives from all NRL clubs and focuses on empowering youth through workshops covering topics including leadership, resilience, culture, wellbeing, and career exploration.
Knights players Dylan Lucas, Bradman Best and Fletcher Myers presented polos to the four students and congratulated them on their selection.
The summit will take place from the 20th to the 25th of May in Sydney.
Meet the Knights representatives:
Tyrone Clarke
Proud Darkinjung man, Tyrone lives on Worimi country and currently attends Tomaree High School.
His totem is the whale and he has a great love and passion for everything football related.
Tyrone’s career aspirations are to become a player for NRL or become an official in the NRL. His dream is to also represent his culture and play for the Indigenous All Stars.
Olivia Ray
Proud Worimi woman, Olivia lives on her home country and is currently studying at Irrawang High School.
Olivia’s totem is the dolphin and her career aspirations are to be a Paediatrician, Doctor, or Medical Assistant.
She is currently undertaking a Certificate III in Health and Services and works at John Hunter in the Children’s Ward as an Assistant Nurse.
Maddison Ridgeway
Proud Worimi woman, Maddison lives on Worimi and Awabakal country and currently studies at Cardiff High School.
Maddison's totem is the dolphin and she aspires to become a Physiotherapist in the Sports industry.
Kyran Blair
Proud Kamilaroi man, Kyran is born and raised on Awabakal country and currently studies at Hunter Sports High School.
Kyran's totem is the eagle and his career aspiration is to play rugby league at a professional level.
He also would love to be able to play for his culture in the Indigenous All Stars team.
