nib Newcastle Knights Head Coach Adam O'Brien has named his 22-man squad for their Round 10 clash against the Wests Tigers at Scully Park, Tamworth this Saturday afternoon.

In team news, Tyson Frizell and Jacob Saifiti have been named to return to the side this weekend.

Prop Leo Thompson is set to notch his 50th game for the Club when the team run out to play the Tigers.

The two sides will contest for the Allan McMahon Shield this Saturday, contested in the first fixture of the year between the two Clubs.

McMahon had a strong affiliation with both clubs having played 110 first grade game at the Balmain Tigers between 1975 and 1981.

At the tender age of 31, McMahon was announced as the first Head Coach of the Newcastle Knights and set out to create a culture based on toughness and resilience.

McMahon paved the way for the Knights in their introduction to the league in '88 and laid the foundations that would bear fruits in years to come.

The Knights and Tigers will remember an inspiring figure of both clubs and continue his legacy.

The squad will also reconnect with our Tamworth supporter base and host an open training session this Friday, May 10.

All Knights Members and supporters are encouraged to come along and watch the team at their Captain's Run as they prepare to take on the Tigers on Saturday.

The team will finish their Round 10 preparations at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, with the session kicking off at 9am and wrapping up an hour later at 10am.

All attendees are encouraged to stick around for a quick photo or autograph after the session, and meet the boys in red and blue.
