The nib Newcastle Knights have re-signed National Rugby League Women’s premiership winger Sheridan Gallagher for a further two years, to remain in the Hunter until at least the end of 2025.
Gallagher, 22, enjoyed a breakout first season in the NRLW, after making a successful transition from professional soccer to become an integral part of the Knights 2023 premiership winning team.
Newcastle Knights Director of Football Peter Parr said this signing was great news for the club.
“Given Sheridan had only played two games of rugby league before the 2023 season, it is phenomenal what she has achieved by playing every game and winning a premiership," said Parr.
“Sheridan was named Knights Rookie of the Year; it is clear she will continue to grow and improve in the future.
“We delighted Sheridan has committed to the Knights for another two years.”
The Knights will kick off the 2024 NRLW season with a Round 1 blockbuster against the Sydney Roosters on Thursday 25 July at McDonald Jones Stadium, to officially start the competition.
All NRLW preseason training programs are mandated to start at the same time, commencing around seven weeks prior to season opener.
