The nib Newcastle Knights have defeated the St George Illawarra Dragons 32-12 at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.
In the final regular season game of the season, the Knights posted six tries to the Dragons two to claim an incredible ninth win in succession and lift the Alex McKinnon Cup.
Dom Young scored two freakish late tries to break the Club record for most tries in a single NRL season as the squad prepares for semi-final football.
HOW IT PLAYED OUT:
1st min - The match kicked off at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium for the final round of the season.
2nd min - Newcastle were off to a brilliant start with the stand-in captain crossing over for the first points of the game.
The forward spun through the defence to leap over the try-line to open the scoring.

7th min - The Knights doubled their advantage when Enari Tuala dived over under the posts.
Tyson Gamble cut through the Dragons defence and found Tuala in support for the side's second try of the night.

17th min - The Dragons pegged one back with Ben Hunt executing a chip and chase to score for the home side.
31st min - Nine minutes before the break, Greg Marzhew powered his way over.

The winger couldn't be stopped as he posted his 20th try of the campaign.
40th min - The Knights went into the sheds ahead 16-6.
43rd min - The Knights were again quick out of the gates, posting their fourth try of the game inside the opening minutes of the second half.
After going through multiple Knights hands, Mat Croker hit Fa'amanu Brown with a great ball and the hooker dived over for his first try in the red and blue.

65th min - Tyson Gamble looked to have scored a try of the year contender involving a chip and chase with NRL debutant Riley Jones, but the try was overruled for a knock-on in the build-up.
76th min - Still searching for one more try to break the Club record for most tries in a single season, Dom Young would have to wait until the 76th minute - and what a try it was.
Young produced an astonishing acrobatic finish in the corner to earn his 22nd try of the campaign.

78th min - To cap off the result, Young would score another try with an equally impressive finish in the right corner.
