The NSW Cup side went down by 40 points to the North Sydney Bears at Cessnock Sportsground last Saturday.
The Bears ran in 10 tries to the Knights three with Simi Sasagi, David Armstrong and Kyle McCarthy getting on the scoresheet.
Newcastle sit in 12th spot with three games remaining. They will play the Bulldogs this Sunday before the NRL and NRLW main games
