Pathways Report: Knights defeated in Canberra

In this week's pathways report, we take a look at the nib Newcastle Knights pathways teams in the Knock-On-Effect NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup competitions.

The two sides travelled down to Belconnen last Sunday to take on the Canberra Raiders pathways sides.

See how each team fared:

NSW Cup - Knights 24-36 Raiders

The NSW Cup side were defeated in the end 12 points by the Canberra Raiders at Belconnen on Sunday.

The Raiders started strong with three tries inside the opening half while Jack Johns scored for the red and blue eight minutes before half-time.

NSW Cup: Round 22 Highlights

Canberra would score another four in the second half while a double to Dylan Lucas and a crash play from Callan Burgess weren't enough for the Knights.

The side remains in 12th spot on the ladder with four games remaining in the season.

Jersey Flegg Cup - Knights 20-28 Raiders

The Jersey Flegg Cup squad went down by six points to the Raiders at Belconnen on Sunday.

In a back and forth contest, a late Raiders try proved the difference in the end.

Luke Pietzner opened the scoring six minutes into the game while Fletcher Sharpe extended the Knights early lead with the side's second.

The Raiders pegged one back before the break as the Knights led 10-6 at the break.

Jersey Flegg: Round 22 Highlights

Jahoiyakim Afoa scored in the corner one minute into the second half as the Knights bolstered their lead.

The Raiders would post three quick fire tries to retake the lead and another four-pointer seven minutes from time to take the win.

The Jersey Flegg Cup squad sit in 12th spot on the ladder and will rest up with the bye this weekend.
