Frizell re-signs with the Knights

nib Newcastle Knights forward Tyson Frizell has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Club, committing for the 2024 National Rugby League season, along with potential options for an additional two seasons.

The new agreement includes a rolling contract with options in the player’s favour for 2025, with an additional mutual option between the player and the club for 2026, should the player activate the 2025 option. 

Frizell won the Knights 2022 Player of The Year award, taking home the coveted Danny Buderus Medal, along with captaining the team on several occasions and continuing to establish himself as a genuine leader both on and off the field.

The highly regarded forward has continued this season where he left off last year, with many respected judges believing he is in career best club form across his 13 seasons in the NRL. 

Tyson’s presence both on and off field is highly valued by our club.

Earlier this year, the 233 NRL game veteran was rewarded with a return to the representative arena by gaining selection in the first two State of Origins for the NSW Blues.

nib Newcastle Knights Director of Football Peter Parr said securing Frizell’s signature adds great stability to the club.

“We are delighted Tyson has recommitted to the club," Parr said.

“His football this year has been as good as it has ever been.

“Tyson’s presence both on and off field is highly valued by our club.

“We look forward to him continuing to play well and provide leadership to help further develop our playing group, especially the young players coming through.”
