Knights run riot over Bulldogs to achieve Club record win

The nib Newcastle Knights have recorded their biggest win in the Club's history after defeating the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 66-0 at Accor Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Knights ran riot scoring an incredible 11 tries and holding the Bulldogs to nil.

The result is also the Club's 400th win in its history and keeps the side in the hunt for a playoffs spot in September. Become a Member.

HOW IT PLAYED OUT:

1st min - The Knights ran out donning their beanies in support of Beanies for Brain Cancer Round.

13th min - After an initial opening stage to the game, the Knights were on the board first with Jackson Hastings collecting his second try in as many games.

Off a scrum win, the halfback produced a 'show and go' to beat the Bulldogs defence and plant the ball under the posts.

17th min - Bradman Best had his first of the afternoon storming over close to the line.

A well executed backline move had the centre diving over with Ponga picking up his first assist of the afternoon.

24th min - The Knights were on a roll with Lachlan Fitzgibbon grabbing the side's third.

Spinning into the defence, the second-rower made no mistake to extend the Knights advantage.

34th min - All the momentum was with Newcastle and the side capitalised.

A brilliant offload from Jack Hetherington created some second phase play and Phoenix Crossland was on hand to score his fourth of the season.

36th min - Kalyn Ponga was creating problems for the Dogs defence and streaked into the back field.

The fullback found an unmarked Best in support with the centre scoring his second of the game.

40th min - After an impressive first half display, the Knights would take a 30-0 lead into half-time.

42nd min - The Knights picked up where they left off in the second half with Kurt Mann notching our sixth of the game.

51st min - The Knights were enjoying their football with a scintillating team try leading to Hastings second of the match.

64th min - Enari Tuala dived in for the Knights tenth of the afternoon as the side cracked the 60-point mark.

71st min - Phoenix Crossland created a slice of history running in to go past the Club's biggest ever win in first grade 66-0.

79th min - The Knights held the Dogs to nil with a last ditch effort to stop Dogs winger Jacob Kiraz in the corner.
