One of our own, nib Newcastle Knights forward Daniel Saifiti is set to tick off another huge milestone in the NRL this weekend.
The powerhouse forward will play his 150th NRL and Knights game this Sunday against the Manly Sea Eagles in front of the Hunter faithful. Listen on Apple or Spotify.
Born in Newcastle and having grown up on the Central Coast, 'D-Saf' made his debut as a teenager back in Round 1 of 2016.
On the KNIGHTS // HQ Podcast, Saifiti shared stories over the course of eight seasons in the NRL including his tough first grade introduction to representative honours, all along wearing the red and blue jersey.
"Playing your first game that's probably the best memory in terms of footy, but to notch up 150," Saifiti said on the KNIGHTS // HQ Podcast.
"Hasn't been the easiest road, obviously at the start it was pretty lean years, didn't win many games but it was all a learning curve.
"I came out the other side... I'm definitely proud of how far I've come."
Hosts Mat 'Crokes' and Jae also asked the forward where he ranks some of his career accomplishments including representing Fiji and pulling on the Blues jersey for the first time.
"I would have to put the Knights, Fiji and NSW debut, all in one.
"(For) Fiji, I hadn't played NRL yet, so that was my first big game in front of a big crowd.
"Obviously my first NRL game and the same for my first Origin. The feeling of elation was all the same.
"And Jacob's (Origin) debut would be up there too."
We kick off the episode with our player quiz, testing 'D-Saf's' knowledge of his 149 career games to date.
Saifiti also spoke about becoming a father for the first time and where the team sits midway through the season.
The 27-year-old reflected on his time at the Knights so far, playing alongside his twin brother in Jacob, what an Origin atmosphere and build up is like, plus looking ahead to the future with his goals for the remainder of the season.
We round out this episode as we rank our favourite TV shows of all time, including some interesting picks from the boys.
