Junior Reps team lists: Round 2

The nib Newcastle Knights Junior Representative sides have been named for Round 2 of their respective 2023 seasons.

The three squads will travel down to play the Penrith Panthers this Saturday at Windsor Sports Complex, Windsor.

Kicking off the day, our Tarsha Gale Cup team will take to the field at 11:00am before the Harold Matthews Cup team start at 12:30pm.

The SG Ball team will take on the Panthers at 2:00pm.

SG Ball Cup:

After an emphatic start to the season, our SG Ball side will look to take two wins from two when they face the Panthers.

The squad scored a 62-12 victory over the North Sydney Bears in the opening round.

They will face tough opposition from Penrith who finished last season as Grand Final winners, and knocked out the Knights in the Semi-Final on route to the decider.

Tarsha Gale Cup:

After finishing in last season's Grand Final, our Tarsha Gale Cup team started their new season strongly with a 20-14 win over the North Sydney Bears in Round 1.

The team scored a four tries to three victory with Ava Osland scoring a double and Lilly McNamara and Evie Jones combing for one each.

They will face Penrith who went down 28-0 to the Illawarra Steelers last start.

Harold Matthews Cup:

Our Harold Matthews Cup side started the season in similar fashion to the SG Ball side with a convincing 42-4 win over the North Sydney Bears.

The team combined two strong halves of football with eight tries scored.

In an early season test for the team, they will play Penrith who went down 34-26 to the Illawarra Steelers in Round 1.
