Ultimate Guide: Eels name team for Sunday

The nib Newcastle Knights NRLW side will take on the Parramatta Eels this Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Returning home for Round 3, the team will look to continue their streak of victories back in front of the Newcastle crowd. 

Caitlin Moran, Tiana Davison and Jakiya Whitfeld are set to make their NRLW and Club debuts against the Eels.

TEAM NEWS

UPDATE: In three late changes, Caitlin Moran, Tiana Davison and Jakiya Whitfeld have come into the team.

The three will make their official NRLW and Club debut against the Eels.

For the Eels, a change on Saturday with Reuben Cherrington joining the bench for her NRLW debut and Brooke Anderson dropping out.

TUESDAY: Griffiths has stuck with the side that defeated the Gold Coast Titans 16-12 on Sunday to remain undefeated through two rounds of the season.

Tamika Upton and Simone Karpani have been named to play and will continue to be monitored through the week after failing to pass their HIA’s during the Titans match.

Yasmin Clydsdale passed her HIA on Sunday and has also been selected to play.

For the Eels, there are no changes to the team which took the field against the Dragons in Round 2 with Tayla Preston named to start after joining the side from the reserves last week.

Fullback Gayle Broughton is named after failing to finish the match against St George Illawarra. 

FORM GUIDE

The Knights sit 2nd on the ladder after the opening two wins, only behind the Sydney Roosters on points differential.

Our side defeated the Gold Coast Titans 16-12 last round.

Takairangi on strong start and Eels challenge

The Eels went down 16-10 to the Dragons in Round 2.

Parramatta sit 5th on the ladder after the first couple of rounds.

Shanice Parker v Tiana Penitani: Two game-breaking centres will do battle this Sunday.

Parker has had a strong start to the NRLW season in Knights colours forming a lethal right-edge combination with Autumn-Rain Stephens Daly.

The centre has provided two try-assists in two game plus averaged 86 run metres.

Shanice will look to contain NSW Blues centre in Penitani who has made 5 tackle breaks and averaged 140 run metres from the opening two games.

The Knights have previously played the Eels once in our inaugural 2021 season.

The Eels defeated the Knights 13-12 in our inaugural game in the NRLW from last season.

For percentage set completion, the Eels are in front with a 78% completion rate, while our side sits at 71%.
