nib Newcastle Knights NRL Head Coach Adam O'Brien has named his 22-man squad for our battle against the Canberra Raiders at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Knights will line up in a new specially designed high vis jersey to commemorate the 10-year partnership with NSW Mining.

Voice for Mining Family Day has become a perennial highlight on the local rugby league calendar, this year hosting a triple header, including the kick off to the Knights NRLW season against the Brisbane Broncos, directly after the NRL clash between the Knights and Raiders.

Bradman Best and Enari Tuala have been stood down from NRL selection due to disciplinary reasons. Both players failed to make the team bus on time on Sunday morning in Brisbane and will play NSW Cup on Sunday.

Krystian Mapapalangi will become Knights player number 333 when he makes his debut in the centres against the Raiders. The strong ball running 19-year-old back joined the Knights last year and has been in the top squad since the pre-season training.

David Klemmer has been named to return from a knee injury in the front row, Edrick Lee is back on the wing and Jacob Saifiti has been named to start at Lock Forward.

This week’s 50/50 charity partner is Round 23 Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
