The nib Newcastle Knights got the job at Suncorp Stadium as they defeated the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
It was a crucial win for Adam O'Brien's men as they returned to winning ways.
As we digest the contenders for man of the match make sure you have your say in the poll below.
Mitch Barnett
Barnett was instrumental in his return from suspension. The damaging second-rower ran for 146 metres with 60 of those post-contact.
'Barney' was a handful for the Bulldogs as he contributed with seven tackle breaks and three offloads. His inclusion was a timely boost for Adam O'Brien with Tyson Frizell absent from the match.
Barnett put in a big shift in defence as he contributed with 30 tackles as he played the full 80 minutes in his return from suspension.
Dominic Young
Dominic Young put in another great display on the wing and contributed with a match-winning play to chase down Josh Addo-Carr who looked certain to score as he raced down the left-wing.
Young's contribution was there to see as he amassed 154 running metres from 14 runs. Alongside this, Young had 74 post-contact metres which were crucial as the Knights worked the ball out of their defensive end.
David Klemmer
The veteran prop was outstanding in the middle against his former side. Klemmer played a total of 60 minutes and made 19 runs for 202 running metres. Of those running metres, 85 were post-contact.
Klemmer's contribution was outstanding as he added two offloads while making 33 tackles.
Adam O'Brien's side will need a repeat of those performances as they now face the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night at McDonald Jones Stadium.
