The nib Newcastle Knights are delighted to confirm the retention of Enari Tuala on a two-year deal.
A talented outside back who first arrived from North Queensland, Tuala has been the Club’s top try scorer in both his seasons in Newcastle.
Affectionately known as ‘Nars’ to teammates, Tuala has consistently been one of the most reliable players in the squad, missing just one game in the last two seasons.
Tuala Re-Signs
A speedy outside back, Tuala’s finishing ability is among the best in the NRL, picking up 24 tries in his two seasons in the Hunter. His left-edge combination with Bradman Best yielded 14 tries in 2021.
The 23-year-old livewire stands at 188 centimetres and despite a hugely impressive campaign, his full potential remains untapped.
Knights Head of Recruitment, Clint Zammit, said it was for these reasons that Tuala’s re-signing was an important step in building towards the 2022 season.
“Enari worked hard on the things he needed to change, he played in every game for the Knights in 2021, resulting in a career-best season,” Zammit said.
“His extension adds real depth to our outside backs, covering both wing and centre.
“If he continues to work hard, especially in the pre-season, we believe his game can improve again in 2022.”
Tuala’s new deal will tie him to the Knights until at least the end of the 2023 season.
