As we move into the off-season, we'll provide a Season Review of all your favourite nib Newcastle Knights players.
To kick things off, we'll start with our influential fullback and co-captain, Kalyn Ponga.
Ponga had another terrific season in 2021 showcasing his dynamic abilities in his 15 appearances with a combined try-involvement of 22 for the year.
The No.1 also made a return to the State of Origin arena this season with a standout performance in Queensland's Game III victory.
It was a tumultuous start to the campaign for KP with the fullback recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, resulting in him missing the first four games.
However, it didn't take long for Kalyn to rediscover his scintillating form, playing a starring role in wins over Cronulla and the Raiders in the early part of the campaign.
Few can forget his memorable try against the Sharks in the dying minutes to secure a come-from-behind win.
Cometh the hour, cometh Kalyn Ponga
Ponga would top the Club charts for try-assists with 14 for the campaign.
He also added eight of his own, while the team won five out of six games when the fullback crossed the stripe.
The 23-year-old also added another major achievement to his already illustrious career, captaining the Club for the first time in 2021.
The two-time Danny Buderus Medal winner will look to remain injury free and continue to play a pivotal role in the Knights success in 2022.
