Numbers: Ponga and Mann shine over Sharks

These are the numbers that matter.

While stats can't tell you everything, they do paint a very telling picture.

Here's what they told us following the Round 17 clash with Cronulla.

15

Tackle breaks by Kalyn Ponga.

We're not sure if this is a NRL record, but if not, it has to be close. Ponga was immense tonight scoring his first-ever hat-trick as well as making 222 running metres.

Just a superb effort from the young fullback.

194

Run metres from David Klemmer.

Speaking about big efforts, Klemmer once again put in a big shift in the front row almost hitting the 200 mark.

He also made 87 post-contact metres along with it.

Hymel Hunt was also very helpful in this area coming in with 183 metres gained.

2

Try assists and line-break assists by Kurt Mann.

His first pass was a killer to Starford To'a that led to the first try and he continued that form throughout the whole game.

Mann was great in attack but also stood firm in defence with 44 tackles over his 80-minute performance.

3

Offloads by Mitch Barnett.

Every week it seems Barnett is notching up the offloads and in our victory over the Sharks, it was no different.

One of Barnett's offloads even led to a crucial first half try and was in conjunction with his 40 tackles made as well.
