Newcastle have slid down to fourth on the Jersey Flegg ladder following a loss to Penrith over the weekend.
The first half was an arm-wrestle but the Panthers blew the Knights away in the final stanza to secure a comprehensive 42-12 win over Scott Dureau’s men.
It was a strong start by the visitors with Timanu Alexander barging over in the opening five minutes.
The Panthers hit back before Luke Huth scores a solo try from dummy half in the 17th minute to put the Knights up 8-6.
Quick tries from the Panthers saw the mountain men head into the break up 18-8.
The second half was consumed by the home side with a late consultation try to Matt Moon a fleeting moment of joy.
