In 2019, newcastleknights.com.au will be awarding our own 3, 2, 1 each week.
We’ll keep tally as we rank the performances of our troops throughout the season.
Mason Lino came out on fire in the starting no. 6 while big man David Klemmer continues to dominate our rankings with a brilliant comeback from injury.
Here’s how the nib Newcastle Knights looked after our win over the Broncos:
3 - Mason Lino
He came in at short notice after Kalyn Ponga was announced injured and executed a stunningly solid game.
Knights trump Broncos at home
Lino paired with the captain in the halves to play a brilliant game and record one try, four conversions and a penalty goal.
He also added a try assist for good measure.
2 - David Klemmer
The big man with some big numbers.
He topped the match for run metres at 205…. 101 of those by the time he hit 25 minutes in the game.
To add to that… 85 post contact metres, 17 hit-ups and the biggest tackles of the match at 42. Bravo!
1 - Mitchell Pearce
The captain was again at his best and was vital in steering the team around the paddock.
His kicking game was solid with 258 metres on the board.
