The nib Newcastle Knights are back for pre-season training on Monday, November 5.
Ahead of their return, new Head of Physical Performance, Balin Cupples has provided an updated on the troops who needed surgery or are still recovering from injuries suffered last season.
Hooker Danny Levi had surgery on his back in the off-season but is progressing nicely.
He's not expected to miss much training as he completes his recovery.
"Danny got a lumbar repair," Cupples said.
"The most exciting thing across the small group we've got in rehab is their application over the last month.
"He's made really good progress through his surgery
"He should look to be joining full team training from mid-November."
Connor Watson has had his troublesome groin repaired and is expected to commence a full training load in December.

The same goes for Kalyn Ponga who is recovering from ankle surgery.
"He's been running over the last few weeks," Cupples said.

"We're going to build some change of direction and up the intensity of his running over the next month.
"Kalyn is on a similar progression. They're building speed and tempo ... come December those key guys will be with the full squad."
