The nib Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg side returned to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon with an 18-4 win over the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium.
A number of changes were made to the starting side as Gary Anderson moved to the wing and Tom Starling played his first game for the Under 20s in a while as he came back into the hooker role.
It was end-to-end football for 25 minutes before finally the Knights kicked off the scoring with a try from fullback Tex Hoy. Kurtis Dark added the extras to put the visitors in the lead, 6-0.
Next it was Justin Worley to get on the board for Newcastle, as he crashed over in the 35th minute before Dark kicked two from two. The Knights kept the Tigers scoreless in the first half to be in front 12-0 by the halftime break.
In the second, the Tigers recorded their first 47 minutes in via fullback Dylan Smith, but a missed conversion still kept the home side at length, with the Knights to a 12-4 lead.
20 minutes passed before the next scoring opportunity with Luke Huth to add the Knights third as he crossed over in the 69th minute. Dark again nailed the conversion to extend the red and blues lead to 18-4.
That was the last points for the afternoon, as the Knights took a convincing 18-4 win over the Tigers.
