In the sheds: Lachlan Fitzgibbon Round 6
Following a tough loss against the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park on Friday night, Lachlan Fitzgibbon spoke to Knights TV.
“They were good tonight but we didn’t do ourselves any favours,” Fitzgibbon said.
“We only had three sets in the first 20 minutes off the back of not completing sets. You can’t let a good side like the Storm have all the ball because they come up with big plays.”
Although Fitzgibbon put in a solid performance in attack, adding another try to his impressive record this season, he said he was disappointed in other areas of his game, in particular the forward pack’s defence through the middle.
“There is a couple of things I can work better at... I’ve go to work on a few things and as a group we weren’t good enough tonight and that showed in the end result.”
“Our defence through the middle needs focus. We were a bit untidy at stages and off the back of their big forward pack, their skilful outside backs and halves can get the job done out wide.”
The nib Newcastle Knights have fallen to 10th position on the ladder before taking on the Wests Tigers in Tamworth this weekend.
