In the sheds: Shaun Kenny-Dowall on Round 4
It was another disappointing loss for the nib Newcastle Knights as they went down to an in-form St George Illawarra Dragons on Easter Sunday at WIN Stadium.
Knights TV spoke to outside back Shaun Kenny-Dowall in the sheds after the match, who admits they made it hard on themselves.
“We turned over way too much ball and when you give a quality side like the Dragons too much ball, they made the most of it,” said Kenny-Dowall.
“It really hurt us, and we really did make it tough for ourselves.”
Kenny-Dowall acknowledged the Dragons were lethal out wide.
“They’ve got big outside backs and they get their sets going really well,” he added.
“Again we made it hard on ourselves and our defence wasn’t up to scratch tonight.”
Despite the Knights second loss, Kenny-Dowall is optimistic as they head back home for their Round 5 match-up against the Brisbane Broncos next week.
“We’ll take our lessons from this week and move forward into next week,” Kenny-Dowall commented.
“It will be good to get another game at McDonald Jones Stadium, regroup and go again.”
