With seasoned campaigner Trent Hodkinson by his side, Brock Lamb has enjoyed a successful year in the halves.

“It has been tough and everyone told me about the rollercoaster it would be but I felt like it’s been successful and I have enjoyed it,” commented Lamb.

The 20-year-old took out the Rookie of the Year award at the nib Newcastle Knights presentation night on Thursday.

“It was a bit of a surprise but I am happy and grateful to receive the award,” he smiled.

The five-eighth admits he’s looking forward to the pre-season and a competitive 2018 with a number of new recruits headed for the Club.

“I can’t wait, it is going to create some healthy competition,” explained Lamb.

“It is going to be a tough pre-season but the boys are already talking about it and looking forward to it so it’s going to be good.”

For now, Lamb is in recovery mode after he suffered a knee injury which put him out of the last two rounds of the season.

“Unfortunately got the injury there and I think the same thing happened last year when I played a couple of games and got injured at the end,” Lamb stated.

“I am just lucky enough to have a successful year and I did nearly get through injury free.”
