When the nib Newcastle Knights kick off their 30th year at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 17 of the Club’s most recognisable and capped players will also make an appearance at their Sacred Ground.
Club legends Danny Buderus, Andrew Johns, Paul Harragon, Steve Simpson and more will come out onto the field approximately 45 minutes before NRL kick off to help celebrate the rich history of the red and blue jersey.
With nearly 3,000 games of NRL experience, the group will include 11 NSW representatives, ten premiership winners, seven Australian representatives, six Club captains, two foundation players and two Dally M medallists.
“It’s going to be a fantastic way to kick off our 30th year at home”, CEO Matt Gidley said.
“The list of former players that will be here just shows how strong and proud this Club’s history is.”
Make sure you get to McDonald Jones Stadium early this Saturday to celebrate the Club’s 30th year!
