The Newcastle Knights has signed 22-year-old prop Damian Sironen for the remainder of season 2015.
Sironen, who has been released by the Gold Coast Titans, was playing for the Tweed Seagulls in the Intrust Super Cup.
Prior to this, the Ballina junior spent two years at the Melbourne Storm playing in the Under 20s.
“Damian is a young front-row forward who was captain of the Tweed Seagulls. We have been monitoring him for some time now,” coach Rick Stone said on Monday.
“He brings size and potential and joins the Knights looking for an opportunity.”
Sironen, the nephew of Balmain Tigers’ Paul Sironen, arrived in Newcastle on Monday afternoon and will commence training with the team on Tuesday.
