After undergoing back surgery at the end of April, Robbie Rochow has recovered well and is poised for a return to the field on Sunday.
“I’m feeling really good. It’s been about eight weeks since my operation now," he told Knights TV.
“I feel a lot better than I did earlier in the season anyway with it, so I’m glad I had it done and am looking forward to playing now.”
Rochow was pleased his recovery ran to schedule and maintained a positive attitude about his return to fitness.
“With nerve recovery it’s always individual and has an 8 to 12 week recovery, so I waited until the eight weeks and had already been running for two or three.
“I’d say I am on schedule at the moment and am confident I will do a job on the weekend."
The 24-year-old expects a battle of the forwards when the Knights face the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday.
“They always have a strong forward pack and hopefully we can keep the ball in play and we can get over the top of their forwards,” he said.
“I think our backs are really good at running through the middle and starting off our sets."
After missing much of the first half of the season, he’s motivated to make his mark, especially at a time when injury has taken its toll on the Knights' line up.
“It’s frustrating when your watching and especially when you’re not playing well…just to be back contributing will be a lot better for me,” he said.
“For me I just wanted to wait until I was 100 per cent to come back, so that’s happened now and I’m happy to be able to play.
"I think I’ll play more through the middle than on he edge where I did before.
“I’m happy to just get out there to do my job for the team and help the boys out where I can.
“It’s great to have a home game to start back.”
