Newcastle Knights forward Robbie Rochow saw a specialist for a reoccurring lower back injury on Monday after withdrawing late from the match on Saturday.
The current plan is to manage Rochow’s injury over the next few weeks.
“Robbie has seen a specialist, his back maybe is not as bad as we first thought,” coach Rick Stone said on Tuesday morning.
“We are going to try and manage him over the next couple of weeks rather than having surgery.”
Stone confirmed Tariq Sims will replace Rochow for Saturday’s match against the St George Illawarra Dragons. Stay tuned for all of the Round 5 team news at 5.01pm today.
