The Newcastle Knights has named an 18-man squad for Saturday’s round two encounter against the North Queensland Cowboys at 1300Smiles Stadium.
Coach Rick Stone has announced the same squad as he did for round one, which means Kurt Gidley is named to return at fullback.
Gidley was a late withdrawal from Saturday’s season opener at Hunter Stadium, but the coach has given him until Friday to prove his fitness for the trip to Townsville.
Sione Mata’utia returns to an extended bench alongside Tyler Randell, Chris Houston, David Fa’alogo and Jack Stockwell.
The Knights are set to travel to Townsville on Friday afternoon.
