The Kangaroos edged out England 16-12 in front of 20,585 fans at Melbourne's AAMI Park on Sunday afternoon.

England led Australia 12-4 at half time before the Kangaroos hit back with two second half tries.

Knights utility back Sione Mata'utia became the youngest Kangaroo to debut, while fellow Knight Beau Scott suffered a hamstring injury in the first half.

The Kangaroos now take on Samoa at Wollongong next Sunday.
