Knights players Dane Gagai and Tyrone Roberts were honoured to present Special Olympics athletes with their well earned medals at a presentation ceremony at Charlestown on Friday.
The Knights congratulated athletes from the Bocce event and handed over the prestigious medals and ribbons to the beaming recipients on the podium.
More than 2000 athletes from Australia and around the world have converged on Newcastle as part of the 2013 Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games.
The crowds at the medal presentation and throughout the week have been awash with red and blue with athletes and their supporters proudly wearing the Newcastle Knights hats donated by the Club at the Games opening ceremony on Sunday.
The week-long event wraps up on Saturday.
