The Newcastle Knights has named a 19-man squad for Sunday’s round two match against the Canberra Raiders.
Captain Kurt Gidley shifts to fullback to replace the injured Darius Boyd while Travis Waddell moves to starting hooker.
Boyd suffered a low grade two hamstring strain and is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.
Matt Minto and Jake Mamo, who are yet to make their NRL debut, are named on an extended bench, which includes the addition of David Fa’alogo.
Gidley and Tyrone Roberts have been named to play after they passed their CogSports test on Tuesday. While they are symptom free they will continue to follow NRL protocol to gain clearance to play in Sunday’s game.
